What makes you feel trapped

Things always change. Life will change whether you want it to or not. Some things are completely out of our control. Like we mentioned earlier, you can make small adjustments to prepare for the changes you want to control like a new job.

You can begin practicing guided meditations to help you gain clarity and reduce anxiety. And you might be able to learn a few lessons from someone who has felt trapped but overcome their situation.

You can also develop new skills so that you can avoid feeling trapped again in the future in your next chapter. That might be new job skills or communication skills for relationships.

Maybe you pick up a side hustle, so you can earn some additional income so you can finally avoid to take a family vacation. Or you earn enough so you can live an independent life.

This world is ruled by money. Instead, we must find a way to earn more of it to live the life we desire. Sometimes, we feel trapped because of barriers put on us by other people. However, keep in mind that communication is a lot tougher than you may think. You must actively be making changes to make that good karma come back around so you can untangle yourself free from your prison.

Sometimes we feel trapped because we hide behind a mask of who we feel others think we are rather than just being who we really are. Others present an image of themselves which is nowhere similar to who they really are, which leaves them feeling exhausted at the end of the day. I create art almost every day, and both the process of putting colors to canvas and earning money from something I enjoy so much bring me big feelings of freedom. I also get to be outside in the middle of the day, which brings me more happiness than I ever could have imagined. I get to set big goals and move toward them at my own pace.

Here are some steps of the steps I took to get from there to here, and that you can try, too, if you feel trapped in your life. Listen to your body. This has helped me more times than I can count. If your chest feels tight, if your stomach is in knots, if your shoulders are up to your neck, or if you feel just plain off, you need to stop and listen to what your body is telling you.

Your body is the animal part of you, in touch with your deepest needs and desires. Try checking in with your body at least once a day and seeing what makes it feel open and relaxed, then do more of that.

Take the tiniest steps possible. So I took tiny steps while I was there: I made art on the weekends, I took an online class about building my own business, I went outside and walked by the ocean a lot.

If you do anything, and I mean anything at all, that moves you closer to a place of peace or excitement, please give yourself a pat on the back. It will keep you moving forward and help you build momentum. Look for the positive. There is something good in all of our experiences if we take the time to look for it.

I feel the same about all of my jobs and even all of my past relationships. Learn to live with uncertainty. I was trying new things, seeing what felt right. If it feels good, go toward it. If it feels bad, move away from it, even if you have to do it slowly. You can make changes, even tiny incremental ones, and get into a life that feels just right for you.
